Welcome to Lake House Glass!

My name is Aaron Allison, and I am the founder of Lake House Glass. About 25 years ago, I started doing stained glass art and I loved it - however, I never really believed that I was good enough to do it for anything more than, 'just a hobby'.

For most of my professional career, I worked for BNSF Railway - and while I am grateful for the time spent there and the people that I had the chance to work with - it never felt like what I was 'supposed' to be doing. It always just felt like a job where I had, 'ended up'. To be completely honest, I felt stuck. I didn't think I was good enough to do anything else, and I was too afraid to try.

A few years ago, my wife Anastasia left her job and started a company called Kula Cloth. I watched her create her dream from the ground up and I began to wonder if it was something that I could do too. I started doing a lot of things that I had never been open to before - meditation, gratitude and learning more about simply being present. As time passed, I found myself becoming more creatively inspired. I started playing the ukulele (with my wife on the violin) and began to feel called to coming back to my love of stained glass art.

About fifteen years ago, I was in a railroad training class and the instructor asked every student, "Where do you see yourself in 15 years?" Everybody in the class proceeded to describe where they would be in their railroad career, but my answer was different... I responded, "I see myself in a house on a lake."

So, here I am. Fifteen years later. Living in a house on a lake and seizing the unique opportunity to make a living sharing art with the world. Glass is such a unique medium and the reason I love it is because it is truly representative of our truth as humans - sometimes the opacity is dark and obscured, but other times it is transparent to the light and infinite good within each of us. It is my greatest hope that this light shines through my work and it is an honor to create these pieces for you.

I hope my art brings a lot of joy and light into your life and that it serves as a reminder of the light that exists within all of us.

Thank you so much for being here and for supporting my dream!
